The Chicago Blackhawks are the 2015 Stanley Cup Champions after defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.  Despite being a very competitive and entertaining series the lack of Canadian teams had enough Canadians deciding they weren't going to watch the final round.  By the end of the 3rd round 80% of Canadians had tuned into the NHL Playoffs; however, only 47% tuned into the Final round.  It's likely the addition of at least one Canadian team would have been enough to attract more viewers but according to Bodog.ca who released their odds on favourites to win the Cup next year it's not looking good for Canadian teams.  Chicago is favoured to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions with Anaheim, St. Louis and Tampa Bay rounding out the top 4.  The Montreal Canadians have the best odds amongst Canadian teams with 14 to 1 odds.  Luckily anything can happen in sports and over the course of the next season we are likely to see these odds change and hopefully in our favour.
