Back to school TV advertising
Ikea and Staples may have a huge presence on radio with their back to school campaigns but it’s a different story when we look at the main players advertising on TV.
Walmart is still top in Toronto across the period measured. This year it incorporated the back to school message into its broader 20 years in Canada campaign.
This year Bell targeted Vancouver with its “More than a back to school sale” campaign for Samsung smart phones. Target stays at number 2 and The Brick sneaks in at number 3 just beating Best Buy.
In Montreal Jean Coutu’s huge campaign knocked Walmart off the top spot with a series of :15 ads featuring different back to school items.
